Does my Septic Drain Field need any special care or attention?

Protect the Drain Field

• Keep Heavy Items Off: Don’t park cars or build structures over the drain field.
• Plant Wisely: Avoid deep-rooted trees or shrubs that can damage pipes. Use grass or shallow-rooted plants instead.
• Do not plant grass or other vegitation in the Drain Field that requires frequent watering.  Excessive watering can affect the drain field’s natural purpose of absorbing liquids into the soil.
